Mayawati, Maurya to take oath tomorrow as new House members
Lucknow, July 2 (UNI) After being elected unopposed to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council in the by-poll for the two vacant seats on June 28, state Chief Minister and BSP president Mayawati and her cabinet colleague Swami Prasad Maurya will tomorrow take oath as members of the House.
According to the administrative sources, the two newly elected members will take aoth at 1100 hrs in the presence of Council Chairman Chaudhary Sukhram Singh Yadav.
The seats had fallen vacant, following deaths of BSP member B R Verma and Samajwadi Party (SP) member Vikramaditya Pandey.
While Mayawati had not contested the recently concluded UP Assembly election, Maurya had lost from Dalmau Assembly constituency in Rae Bareli district.
