Girl commits suicide after rape

Hardoi, July 2 (UNI) After being criminally assaulted, a fourteen-year-old girl committed suicide by immolating self in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh today.

In a complaint, the victim's mother accused one Neelu of raping her daughter late last night in Sandeela village.

Ashamed over the incident, the girl set herself ablaze after dousing with kerosene, police said.

The victim was rushed to a hospital in a grievous condition, where she succumbed.

Meanwhile, a hunt for the rapist was on.
