Casualty dept of govt hospitals to be strengthend: CM

Panaji, Jul 2 (UNI) The State Cabinet today approved plans to strengthen the casualty departments in government hospitals by providing them will fully-equipped infrastructure to prevent patients from waiting for long for treatment during the night time.

Goa Chief Minister Digamber Kamat, after the Cabinet meeting, told mediapersons that State government had decided to accord top priority in providing faster relief to common people by bringing in reforms in State departments like police, civic, panchayat and the collectorate. Mr Kamat said the Cabinet had also approved the setting up of a Cabinet sub-committee for infrastructure and coordination committee, both headed by the Chief Minister himself.

Other members of the infrastructure committee are Home Minister Ravi Naik, Finance Minister Dayanand Narvekar and PWD Minister Ramkrishna Dhavlikar.

The coordination committee consists of Home Minister Ravi Naik, Revenue Minister Jose Philip D'souza and PWD Minister Ramkrishna Dhavlikar.
