Unorganised labour has lost champion in Sahib Singh's death: Advani

New Delhi, June 30 (UNI) Senior BJP leader L K Advani expressed deep shock and sorrow at the untimely death of former Delhi chief minister Sahib Singh Verma in a road accident today and said, in his death, the unorganised labour force in the country had lost one of their biggest champions.

In his condolence message, Mr Advani recalled Sahib Singh's conviction for helping the unorganised labour and asserted that it was very much alive in the last National Executive, which concluded only a few days ago in Delhi.

''Sahib Singh insisted that the BJP come out with a special resolution but was convinced after he was assured that his concerns would be accomodated in political and economic resolution,'' he said.

Mr Advani said he had worked for over decades to uphold the rights of unorganised labour force and supported causes of the backward classes of society.
