Saheb Singh Verma's body to lie in state at BJP HQ
New Delhi, June 30 (UNI) The body of former Delhi Chief Minister Saheb Singh Verma will be brought here and kept in state at the BJP headquarters, party sources said here today.
Verma was killed in a road accident near Shajapur in Rajasthan when the Tata Safari, in which he was travelling, collided head-on with a mini-truck. Three of the five occupants, including the former chief minister, died on the spot.
Sources said most likely Verma would be cremated tomorrow at the Nigambodh Ghat.
The news about the death of 64-year-old senior leader, who commanded great respect in the rural areas of Delhi and adjoining states, shocked the BJP and its supporters who thronged the party headquarters and the residence of Verma to express their grief and condole the family members.
