New Delhi, June 30 (UNI) Attacking the 'cavalier attitude' of the UPA government towards corrupt practices of fellow travellers of its alliance, the RSS today said the deal struck between Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati and the Congress on the eve of Presidential polls had emboldened her to declare that her wealth had increased by 30 times in the last three years.

'Organiser', the RSS mouthpiece in its editorial titled ''This regime is about bailing out swindlers'' said the camaraderie between UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Ms Mayawati was the talk of the town.

It was her deal with the Congress which had emboldened Mayawati to make her 'audacious declaration' at a time when she faced a disproportionate case involving just half the amount of Rs 28 crore.

It was now in deep freeze.

Ms Mayawati had filed an affidavit declaring that her assets worth Rs 1.67 crore in the 2004 general elections and now her declared assets worth Rs 52 crore in the UP Legislative Council elections.

''All this she says is gift from her supporters and we are only talking about declared assets'', the paper wrote wondering what was the monetary miasma that multiplied wealth to such astronomical proportions.

The paper also lamented that no other government at the Centre had bailed out so many accused in financial turpitude of scandelous proportion in such a short time. The list is too long and it gives an impression that UPA is all about wheeling, dealing and making a fast buck at immence loss to national security and public morality.

On a day when three officials were let off the hook in the infamous stamp paper case, the Chief Minister had flaunted her treasure as 'loving gifts from her frenzied admirers'. ''Public morality was never such grotesque celebration in a single day,'' the paper noted.

The stamp paper scam, which was presumed as the biggest ever scam involving top politicians of Maharashtra and other states, was sought to be buried through the Court order and not a drop of tears was shed on this unhappy ending.

So was the fate of Bofors scam, the paper said quoting former CBI Director Joginder Singh's observation that ''Italian fugitive Ottavio Quattrocchhi can still be extradited provided the government has the will...but obviously he has friends in powerful positions.'' It was not that every politician was overlooked. In the case of 'false affidavit' of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, the case was pursued with great perseverance, but a number of similar allegations against Ms Gandhi were dismissed outright, the editorial pointed out.
