Intl Green Oscar Award 2007 to SKG Sangha
Vijayawada, June 30: The Royal Geographical Society (RGS) London has awarded the prestigious 'International Green Oscar Award 2007' to SKG Sangha, an NGO, for installing 45,000 bio-gas plants in 6,000 villages in Karnataka.
Addressing a press conference here today, SKG Sangha President D Vidya Sagar said the award was received by him on behalf of the SKG from former US Vice-President Algore at a function held in London on June 21.
Mr Vidya Sagar said the award recognises outstanding achievement of the NGO in using sustainable energy to improve quality of life and environment protection.
