90 killed in rain-related incidents in Mah since start of monsoon
Sangli, Maharashtra, Jun 30 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today said that so far 90 people had died in rain-related incidents in the State since monsoon started.
Mr Patil, who is presently acting Chief Minister told reporters today that several cases of house collapse, crop damage, drowning of cattle has been reported in the state due to heavy rains and flood waters.
Some 20 districts in the State, including Mumbai, Konkan, Pune division, parts of Marathwada and Vidharbha received above average rainfall, he said.
In Sangli district, about 500 people were shifted to safer places after Krishna river water entered into their houses, he said adding that people from city's Karnal road locality, Suryawanshi Plots, Shiv-Shambho chowk were the ones who were shifted.
