Ten more nominations filed, number rises to 51 for Prez poll

New Delhi, June 29 (UNI) Ten more nominations were filed today for the July 19 Presidential poll, taking the total number to 51 so far.

Four of the nominations filed today were rejected on the spot.

Mr Mahesh Chandra Sharma of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh along with his nomination paper submitted the certified copy of the Electoral roll displaying his name in the roll. Mr Sharma's nomination papers were not supported by the proposers or the seconders nor did he submit the required security deposit.

Mr Janwaykar Prabhakar Dada Dattatra of Sangli, Maharashtra whose nomination papers were devoid of all statutory documents was rejected.

Next to file the nomination was Mr Tiger Baba of Delhi whose nomination papers were also rejected in the absence of any supporting documents.

Mr Vidya Prakash Awasti of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh filed his nomination papers along with a certified copy of the Electoral roll displaying his name. Mr Awasti also deposited the statutory security deposit of Rs 15,000 but there was no proposers and seconders for his candidature.

Mr Satvir of Rewari, Haryana filed his nomination along with the certified copy of the Electoral roll displaying his name and also deposited the reqired money. But the nomination papers were devoid of any proposers and seconders.

Mr M Velumurugan of Perembedur, Tamil Nadu filed his nomination along with a'' electoral roll which was not a certified copy and so it was rejected. He did not supply any other documents nor the security deposit.

Mr Satish Chandra Sharma of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh filed his nomination papers along with a certified copy of the Electoral roll displaying his name and he also deposited the required money. However, in his nomination papers there was no signatures of proposers or the seconders.

Mr Sanjay Saoji Deshpandey of Mumbai, Maharashtra filed his papers with certified copy of the Electoral roll.. Mr Deshpandey's nomination does not contain the security deposit nor any proposers or seconders.

Mr N S Murlidharan of Saleem, Tamil Nadu filed his nomination papers without the certified copy of the Electoral rolls and so it was rejected. He however, deposited the necessary Rs 15,000 as required under the law to contest the Presidential elections.

The last nomination of the day was filed by Shayam Lal Chaurasia of Raipur, Chhattisgar and there was no documents supporting his nominations and was rejected.

Tomorrow is the last day for filing of nominations for the Presidential poll.
