Police on alert in view of Ratia Sikh Sammelan
Fatehabad, June 29 (UNI) In view of the proposed Sikh Sammelan at Ratia in this district on July 11, police and civil authorities in the district have been put on alert.
The Sikh high priests had given a call for the Sammelan to pressure Haryana Government for the arrest of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in the blasphemy case.
The Sikh Sangat today moved a formal application before the Deputy Commissioner O P Sheoran seeking permission for the rally as well as for the use of loudspeakers in it.
Haryana Satkaar Sabha State President Sukhwinder Singh said over 25,000 Sikhs were expected to attend the rally.
He said the rally would be a ''purely religious'' and the organisers would not allow it to take a ''political colour.'' The five Sikh high priests would preside over the proceedings of the rally, he added.
