No threat of destabilisation to government: Goa CM
Panaji, June 29: Goa Chief Minister Digamber Kamat today ruled out any threat of destabilisation to his government by Minister Jose Philip D'Souza of NCP, an alliance partner in the government.
Mr D'Souza had threatened that he would not accept any portfolio other than Urban Development. Instead, Mr Kamat last night allocated him Revenue and Civil Supplies.
The Chief Minister said there is bound to be some problems but they will be solved.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr Kamat said his government had decided to accord top priority and faster relief to the common people in the state.
He said the people whose houses were damaged or collpased during the recent heavy rains would be given immediate relief.
He said in North Goa district, 29 complaints of damage had been registered and total Rs 1,10,000 were disbursed, while in South Goa 51 cases had been registered and Rs 1,46,500 were disbursed.
The Chief Minister said a public grievances box will be kept at Old Secretariat, which will be opened every week.
