New police commissioner of Nashik takes charge
Nashik, Jun 29 (UNI) The new-appointed Police Commissioner of Nashik S M Sayed took charge of his post yesterday.
In a ceremony at the police commissionerate, Mr Sayed was welcomed and a farewell was given to the outgoing Commissioner Himanshu Roy.
Talking to mediapersons today after he took charge, he extended his best wishes to the residents of Nashik and also said he expected the same co-opeartion and support from them.
''Instead of making tall claims, I will first study the various problems and if there is any scope for improvement, I will take the necessary steps and then talk about my future actions,'' Mr Sayed said.
However, he said, three facilities -- fax, e-mail and a special helpline - with the crime branch will be provided for citizens for providing information regarding crime, illegal activities or anything they find suspicious. This will help in solving various law and order problems.
Mr S M Sayed has been transferred to Nashik from Nagpur where he was working as Joint Commissioner.
