Kerala to set up Handloom Tourism Village in Kannur

Thiruvananthapuram, June 29 (UNI) The Kerala Government is planning to create a Handloom Tourism Village in the handloom city of Kannur, Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan told the Assembly today.

A detailed project report in this regard was being prepared by the Tourism Department, he said in a written reply to Mr M Prakashan (CPM).

However, the Government had not submitted any suggestion about the Handloom Tourism Village to the Centre, he added.

Mr Balakrishnan said steps were being taken to implement the project with the cooperation of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).
