Gain confidence of people, Naik advises police

Panaji, June 28 (UNI) Goa Home Minister Ravi Naik today exhorted police personnel to discharge their duties selflessly to gain the confidence of the people and ensure their protection and safety.

Speaking after flagging off 13 mobile control vans at police headquarters here, Mr Naik said police should work with a sense of determination to maintain law and order in Goa.

He said lots of tourists both domestic and foreign visit the state and therefore, police should concentrate more on coastal areas to check drug menance and make Goa the safest place in the world not only for the locals but also for the visitors.

The police should develop friendly relations with tourists so as to attract more and more tourists in Goa. Do not compromise with criminals to strenthen policing in the state, Mr Naik added.

With the launch of 13 vehicles, the fleet has increased to 28 which will cover entire area of all the police stations in the state. These vans are equipped with first aid kit, stretcher, search light, ropes, shields and lathis.
