Vidhan Parishad raps UP govt over leakage of budget proposals
Lucknow, June 28 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh legislative council chairperson Chaudhary Sukhram Singh today directed the state government to ensure that no minister leaks the budget proposals before it is presented in the House.
On June 24, state secondary education minister Jaiveer Singh had divulged details about the budget proposals during a public meeting in Aligarh.
During the Zero Hour, teachers' group member Panchanan Rai said no minister had the authority to make the budget proposals public, when the House is in session and the chief minister is slated to present the budget on June 29.
Taking note of the matter, Mr Singh asked the government to ensure that such an incident was not repeated in future and no policy decisions are made public when the House is in session and the confidentiality of the budget is maintained.
