UP, Bihar residents among 4 killed and 7 injured in Kashmir
Srinagar, June 28 (UNI) Four people, including a resident of Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Bihar, were killed and seven others wounded in different accidents in the Kashmir valley today.
A police spokesman said a tipper hit one Shiv Kumar, son of Chakoot Chowdery, a resident of Kishi Nagar, UP at Hyderpora bypass.
He was immediately rushed to hospital, where he died.
A car hit a Mobile Cement Mixer Rider at Iqbal Colony on the National Highway causing injuries to seven people, including the driver of the car. All the injured were admitted to hospital where one of the injured labourers, identified as Athar Alam hailing from Bihar, succumbed, to his injuries.
A motorcyclist was injrued when a tractor hit him at Songulla Bridge in Shopian. The injured was admitted to Bone and Joint hospital at Barzulla.
A pillar of a building in Dadaompora, collapsed killing 55-year-old Ali Mohammad.
The spokesman said two women, Hajra and Sultani Begum, slipped in the river Kishan Ganga in north Kashmir while collecting wood on the river bank.
Hajra was immediately rescued while Sultani drwoned.
Her body was later recovered.
Five houses and a cowshed were gutted in a devastating fire at Suliaman Tangdhar in Karnah early this morning.
