Telgi, co-accused gift symbol of Justice to MCOCA judge
Pune, June 28 (UNI) All the accused in the fake stamp paper scam, including prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi, today thanked special MCOCA court Judge Chitra Bhedi and gifted her a symbol of Justice, the blindfolded figurine carrying scales.
Sculpted in clay, the figurine was made by one of the accused Hemant Bhogle, while in the Yerawada Jail. All the accused milled round the Judge and wished her success. They also thanked her for her order.
Former Samajwadi Janata Party MLA Anil Gote took the centre stage and lost no time in giving a speech on the judicial system. He, however, did not miss the chance to say that the order on the 43 accused ''was severe'', as they were not party to the crime.
Meanwhile, the atmosphere inside the courtroom was one of jubilation as families of the 43 accused celebrated the day, looking forward to the end of their prison term.
