Teenage 'Surgeon' moves HC seeking anticipatory bail

Madurai, June 28 (UNI) The controversial teenager, who performed a caesarian operation on a woman in the presence of his doctor parents at their hospital in Mannaparai near here, today moved the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court seeking anticipatory bail.

Mr Justice G Rajasurya, before whom the petition came up, posted the further hearing till tomorrow.

When the petition came up for a hearing, the government pleader contended that he had to take instructions from the police officer concerned, who is dealing with the case.

In his petition, the teenager Dileepan Raj submitted that the police had filed a case against him for performing an operation with out the requisite medical qualification.

The police had invoked various sections of the IPC, including 336, 338, 318(1) and 417, in the case.

He submitted that he had no bad antecedents and if arrested, his education would be affected, hence the need for anticipatory bail.
