Punjabi univ ties with Pennsylvania univ for mngt

Patiala, June 28: The students of the Punjab School of Management Studies (PSMS) of Punjabi University, Patiala, will get the rare chance of getting a 'joint degree' from the Wilkes University of Pennsylvania as well.

According to the MoU signed between the two universities, the prospective PSMS students will complete the first year of their studies at Punjabi University and continue with their final year at Wilkes University, a statement release said here yesterday. The MBA programme of the Wilkes University is recognised by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programmes of the United States of America, it said.

Earlier, Dr Tim Gilmour and Dr Paul Brown, President and Dean, Students of Wilkes University, respectively, had visited the Punjabi University to finalise this one-plus-one programme of awarding the joint degree.

The programme is aimed at ''developing business leaders with sensitivity and exposure to different cultures and ambience. The pedagogy involves exposure through internship module as well as through classroom exercises, case studies and simulations''.
