NCP to fight all seats in Delhi Assembly elections, to go alone
New Delhi, June 28 (UNI) The newly refurbished Nationalist Congress Party in Delhi will fight ''on its own'' all the 70 seats in the next elections for the Delhi Assembly.
Announcing this, NCP (Delhi) president Ramvir Singh Bidhuri today said in view of the failed experiment of allying with other parties in the last municipal elections, the party has decided to fight the next state elections on its own.
''We will not allign with any party whatsoever in the next Delhi Assembly elections where we will contest on all the 70 seats.
Keeping this in view, the entire party structure in Delhi has been overhauled and new office bearers appointed.'' As a first step towards this, the party targetted to enroll five lakh members in the Capital city by next year, he said.
''Soon after the municipal election, the state and district level units of the party have been dissolved in consultation with party president Sharad Pawar.'' On the decision ''to go alone'', Mr Bidhuri said the recent coalition experiment did not provide any value addition to his party, hence, ''no more alliances with anyone''.
