Judicial remand of Mann extended till July 12

Jalandhar, June 28 (UNI) A local court today extended the judicial remand of Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh, Wassan Singh Zaffarwal and 19 others till July 12 in a sedition case.

The remand was extended by Chief Judicial Magistrate Varinder Aggarwal after hearing the procesution and defence counsels.

The court admitted an application moved by Mr Mann's counsel under section 227 of the CrPC. The application will come up for hearing on July four.

Mann alongwith the others were arrested on May 12 on the charges of sedition for defacing the statue of former Chief Minister, the late Beant Singh here.
