Govt implements schemes to promote growth of small enterprises

New Delhi, June 28 (UNI) Around 1,600 entrepreneurs were trained by various institutes under the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Ministry as part of its drive to promote small enterprises during April 2007.

The National Small Industries Corporation Ltd (NSIC) conducted 12 intensive campaigns and nine marketing promotion seminars at various places in the country.

The National Institute of Small Industries Extension Training (NISIET), Hyderabad conducted 50 training programmes for 1,074 participants. The Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati conducted 15 training programmes for 452 participants. The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Noida conducted five training programmes for 70 participants.

Under ISO-9000/14001 Reimbursement Scheme, an amount of Rs 88 lakhs was reimbursed to 190 SSI units, an official statement here said.
