UP to ensure admission for all school passouts: Minister

Lucknow, June 27 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government today said that all school passouts will get admission in the graduation courses in state universities and colleges.

State higher Education minister Rakesh Dhar Tripathi, replying to an adjournment motion in the state assembly, said a government notification had been issued to raise the number of seats by 25 per cent besides asking the universities and colleges to start evening classes and self-finance courses.

He also said government would monitor the fee structure of the colleges and would not allow them to collect improper fee from the students.

Raising the issue through an adjournment motion, Naresh Agarwal of the samajwadi party said the students were facing severe hardship in getting admissions in the universities and colleges.

Meanwhile, Mr Agarwal raising another issue criticised the state government for scrapping the unemployment allowance scheme even after the previous government had made budgetary provision for the payment of the allowance to the youths till July 31 next.
