'The Lonely Journey' wins Kerala Lalitha Kala Academy Award

Thrissur, Kerala, June 27 (UNI) ''The Lonely Journey'', a photograph by K B Gireesh, has been selected for this year's Kerala Lalitha Kala Academy Award.

The award carried a purse of Rs 15,000 and a citation.

Photographs by Muhammed Safi and Praveen P Mohandas were also selected for honourable mention award, with a cash prize of Rs 5,000 each, Academy Chairman C Karunakaran announced at a news conference here today.

He said that this year's photography exhibition and award distribution would be held at Durbar Hall, Ernakulam. Seventysix photographs of 56 photographers would be exhibited. However, the date of the function was not announced.
