Sugar prices rise on scattered demand
Navi Mumbai, June 27 (UNI) Sugar prices rose today on fresh buying support from bulk consumers, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants Association said.
Sugar in small and medium grades rose by Re five each per quintal on some improved buying support due to lack of arrival of goods from mills.
Ex-mill small and medium grades witnessed an upward trend in line with wholesale market demand.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,314/1,363, Medium grade: Rs 1,356/1,431, Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,300/1,325, Medium grade: Rs 1,355/1,400.
