'New 7 wonders' drive proliferates terror threat to Taj

Agra, June 27: The ongoing 'new seven wonders' drive, has proliferated the threat of terrorist attack on the monument to love 'Taj Mahal.' ''Taj had always remained under the target of terrorists. The ongoing 'vote for Taj' drive to put the beautiful monument in the list of 'new seven wonders' had increased the terror threat to it,'' Additional DGP security H S Balvariya said here.

Answering to a question, the DGP accepted possibilities of an air attack to the Taj Mahal.

The continuous threat calls to explode Taj are being received, which calls an urgent attention into the matter.

Three terrorists outfit with the help of Pakistan's intelligence agency Inter services Intelligence (ISI) are hatching a conspiracy in the state, he added.

Taking note of the increasing terror threat, Mr Balvariya said ''special security arrangements had been made,'' but cannot be disclosed to media due to security reasons.

Besides, keeping security of tourists in mind a disaster management plan, headed by Senior Police Superintendent has been initiated.

A disaster management unit has been opened to deal with any disaster near the monument.
