ITBP jawan posted at Omar's house shoots self
New Delhi, June 27: An Indo-Tibetan Border Police jawan, posted at the Akbar Road residence of National Conference leader Omar Abdullah, was hurt in a gunfire in an alleged suicide bid this morning.
Sahdev Singh, a Head Constable posted at 7, Akbar Road, was hurt in the left shoulder by the bullet fired from his gun at about 1130 hrs, said a police official.
''He has been admitted to the Ram Mahohar Lohia Hospital where his condition is said to be stable.'' About 32-years of age, Sahdev Singh who hails from Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh purposely fired at himself. However, no suicide note has been found, he said.
''He had asked for a replacement from his present place of posting.'' He will be questioned after he is fit to make a statement, the officer added.
