IBM retains leadership in domestic IT market

Bangalore, June 27: IBM India has been positioned as the market leader in Indian domestic IT services market for 2006 today announced by a leading analyst firm IDC.

IBM in a release here siad IBM Global Services continued to retain the number one position in the India domestic IT services market, with a 9.7 per cent revenue share for the year 2006 (January-December 2006).

Director Global Technology Services, IBM India Nipun Mehrotra, said ''We are honoured by IDC's recognition of our continued leadership in the domestic IT services market''.

''Increased market share and significant wins, which have attributed to a consistent leadership ranking, are not a matter of chance. Pioneering initiatives and a commitment to helping our clients transform and innovate have helped us provide what they seek the most Value'', he added.

The company's leadership position in the domestic IT services space was augmented by higher than industry average revenue growth in IT outsourcing engagements, the release said.

Global Technology Services works closely with over 400 organisations in India, spanning across varied industries, providing them a diverse spectrum of IT services. IBM India recently announced significant deals it signed with major businesses in the country including IDEA Cellular - a 10 year business transformation pact to integrate, innovate and transform Idea's business processes and IT infrastructure.
