Wide spectrum of India's rock, fusion

New Delhi, June 26 (UNI) The weekend gone by saw a host of musicians representing a wide spectrum of rock, rap, fusion and folk music of India come together on one platform to hold sway over music lovers of the capital.

A stunning tapestry of musical sounds emanating from hit numbers belted out by the top rock bands and artists of Delhi like Sajid Akbar, Dona Bhatt, Orange Street, Radius and Papon had an audience of music lovers in the city mesmerised at a concert this Saturday night.

The occasion was the launch by Sa Re Ga Ma India of 'Sahi Bol-The Urban Transmission', a new album which represents a unique blend of the best of Western and Indian musical sounds.

A chic urban compilation that showcases 16 tracks of Delhi's best and most profound bands, artists and producers including Euphoria, Advaita, Abhishek, Papon, Da Saz Radius and others, 'Sahi Bol-The Urban Transmission' is a cutting edge album representing the sonic boom of fusion music where the best of Western sounds interact and blend with the best of Indian sounds.

It is a compilation featuring the widest spectrum of electronic, rock, rap, fusion and folk music of India. Moreover, the album vocals are a heady mix of English and Hindi vocals that cater to a larger audience base.

The album comprises musical tracks by pop bands Euphoria, Advaita, Them Clones, Mill Bhagat, Papon, Audio Pervert, Da Saz, Arjun Sen, Abhishek, Sajid Akbar, Donn Bhat, Radius, Akash Gupta and others.

Speaking at the launch of the album, General manager, Business Unit, Sa Re Ga Ma, Mukul Kansal, said,''at SA Re Ga Ma, we are constantly looking at doing new and exciting projects which will engage consumers across the board. This album presents us with a perfect opportunity to do just that.

''For, it is youthful and innovative, cutting across boundaries and including genres like lounge, indipop, acoustic rock, down tempo, experimental and much more,'' he added.
