UT records 7500 cases of animal bite every year
Chandigarh, June 26 (UNI) More than 7500 cases of animal bite, most of them by dogs, are reported every year from Chandigarh and adjoining states.
To provide medical help to these patients Uniion Territory (UT) Health Department has decided that it will provide anti-rabies vaccine from various locations of the city.
The department is providing free of cost anti-rabies vaccine to the employees of UT, Punjab and Haryana government and their dependents residing in the UT and also to the poor people who have yellow card of UT Chandigarh. To other patients vaccine will be administered at 'no profit no loss' basis.
These facilities are available in Anti Rabies Centre at Civil Dispensary in Sector 19, Block Hospitals in Manimajra and Sector 22, and Poly Clinic in Sector 45.
