UP police conducts raids in Faizabad and Ayodhya

Ayodhya, June 26 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh police was conducting a series of raids in Ayodhaya and Faizabad to nab suspects linked to four terrorists of banned Harkat-ul-Jehad-al-Islam (HUJI) who were arrested in the last couple of days.

On June 23, HUJI 'Commander' Jalaludin alias Babu was arrested with his aide Naushad by the Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh from Wazirganj area of Lucknow. RDX and other ammunition were recovered from them.

Earlier on June 21, two HUJI terrorists Naseer and Yakub were nabbed from the state capital. RDX was seized from their possession.

''On the basis of clues given by the arrested terrorists, raids are being conducted in temples, railway stations and bus stops of Ayodhya and Faizabad to nab suspects,'' Faizabad Police Superintendent (city) Gopesh Khanna told UNI here.

Besides, security had been beefed up in the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi complex, he added.
