Police unearthed piracy of Rajanikanth's new cinema 'Shivaji'

Bangalore, Jun 26 (UNI) Karnataka police have arrested five people in Kolar, who allegedly were selling the pirated version of Compact Discs (CD) of the recently released Rajanikanth's film 'Shivaji'.

Speaking to newsmen here today H D Gangaraj, who holds the rights of distribution in the state, said that the police had busted the piracy network in Kolar. On a tip-off the police had raided a video library in that town and seized pirated CD's.

Alleging that a well-knit underworld gangs were operating in pirating the popular movies of all the languages, Mr Gangaraj urged the state government to enforce the Goonda Act against the piracy of films. The act was in force in neighbouring states including Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh but it was yet to be notified in Karnataka, he said.

Replying to questions Mr Gangaraj informed that the viewers in Karnataka have received Shivaji very well and already it has shown indications that it would prove to be an all-time-hit in terms of collection.
