NIIT, Intel develop multi-core curriculam
New Delhi, June 26: Asia's largest IT training company NIIT along with chip-maker Intel today launched a multi-core training programme that would churn out 50,000 software developers annually.
''We will train 50,000 software developers per annum through our GNIIT centres with the support of our partners,'' NIIT Chairman Rajendra S Pawar told reporters here.
The first such programme will be launched next month to cater to the large number of software developers, likely to reach 17.2 million by 2011.
The training curriculam will be delivered using NIIT's reach in 32 countries and its subsidiary Element K in the US and Canada.
Also, it is partnering with Intel Software training providers such as Training Choice in Australia and Singapore, TRIA IT-training GmBH in Germany and others.
NIIT will train the faculty members and will provide them access to the course material.
''About 70 per cent of the PCs, shipped by year-end, will have processors containing multiple cores,'' Intel Corporation Director (Developer Relations Division) Scott Apeland said.
It offers basic and advanced training from an initial overview of multi-core, to a working experience of parallel programming, including the intricacies of multi-threaded programming and performance optimisation.
