Lalu Prasad, JD(U) MP questioned in ex-minister's murder case
Patna, Jun 26 (UNI) A local court was informed by the Chief Investigating Officer in former Bihar minister Brij Bihari Prasad's murder case today that Railway Minister Lalu Prasad was among the 46 people interrogated by CBI.
Replying to queries of Additional District and Sessions Judge S P N Singh, Defence counsel R S Kothari, also a Deputy SP in the CBI, said JD(U) MP Prabhunath Singh, MLA Rajkisore Sinha, MLC Anwar Ahmed and the then Patna District Magistrate Rajbala Verma, were among others interrogated .
However, none of these people were named in the list of witnesses submitted by the CBI in its chargesheet.
Former state science and technology minister Brij Bihari Prasad and his bodyguard Lakshmeshwar Prasad were shot dead in the premises of Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences here on June 13, 1998.
MP Surajbhan Singh alongwith MLA's Shashi Kumar Rai and Vijay Kumar Shukla and the then private secretary of the slain minister were among the accused facing trial in the case.
