Kolhapur division has only female toppers in the SSC results
Kolhapur, June 26 (UNI) Pranalee Prashant Prabhu of Kudal high school and Kanchan Surendra Kulkarani from New English school oras, both female students from Sindhudurg district secured 95.53, 95.07 per cent marks respectively and stood first and second in the Kolhapur division board of the Maharashtra State Secondary School certificate (SSC) examination, the results of which were declared today.
Kolhapur division board chairman Mr Kadam told reporters here that Sayali Vishnu Dalvi, a female student from Islampur high school, in Sangli district secured 94.92 per cent and was the third rank holder there.
He added that among the backward class too, three girls Tanuja Tanaji Karanje of Maharaja Sayajirao Vidhyalay, Satara secured 93.84 per cent, Anuja Nadkumartike from Adarsh Shikshan Mandir, Sangli district secured 93.53 per cent and Prajkta Vijaysinh Nalawade from Maharaja Sayajirao Vidhyalay, Satara district secured 93.23 per cent. The trio were first, second and third respectively.
A total of 1,66,089 candidates registered their names for the SSC examination conducted in March this year. Of these 1,64,613 appeared and 1,29,483 passed. The overall pass percentage in the Kolhapur division was 78.66 per cent which was five per cent higher than previous year, Mr Kadam said.
The Kolhapur division includes the five districts of Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg, he added.
