Srinagar, June 26 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organisation today produced a charge-sheet against a former Deputy Commissioner of Kupwara and 112 others for fraudulently withdrawing ex-gratia relief against the damage to the property of migrants. A vigilance spokesman said the charge-sheet was produced against the former Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, his private assistant Altaf Hussain and 111 other people in the Court of the Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Kashmir, here.

The accused had fraudulently withdrawn and disbursed ex-gratia relief against damage to the property of migrant Kashmiri Pandits in the border district of Kupwara in north Kashmir, he added.

The accused had entered into a criminal conspiracy for pecuniary benefits, the spokesman said.

He said they had prepared fake and forged records of damage to the immovable property of migrant Kashmiri Pandits in the Kupwara district and fraudulently withdrawn and misappropriated more than Rs 1.18 crore during 1997-98 from the government treasury.
