Former minister viswanath demands resignation of Home Minister
Mysore, June 26 (UNI) Former Minister and Senior Congress leader H Viswanath today demanded the resignation of Home Minister M P Prakash for not knowing the disclosure of the list of Naxal sympathisers by the police in the state.
Speaking to reporters here today he said that Mr Prakash should have known the facts and names of the list of Naxal activitists and their sympathisers.
He condemned the government's attitude for including the names of veteran farmer leader Kadidalu Shamanna and many University Professors in the naxal list.
"Mr Prakash should also suspend the police officials concerned for releasing the list of Naxals," he said.
Stating that Revenue Minister Jagadish Shettar also did not know about the recent decision regarding the formation of two new districts in the state, he said it was another evidence that exposes the functioning of the government.
On the land grab by various political leaders in the state, Mr Viswanath challenged Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to make their names public.
Referring to the government's plan to bring a new cultural policy he said it should hold a public debate on the issue and frame the policy in consultation with experts in the field.
