Dr Pasricha selected for 'Shiksha Rattan Puraskar'

Fatehgarh Sahib, June 25 (UNI) The India International Friendship Society, New Delhi has selected Dr J S Pasricha, professor of commerce, Punjabi University, Patiala for the coveted 'Shiksha Rattan Puraskar' for his contribution in the field of education, research and academics.

The award will be presented to him on July 7 at a function being organised by the society at New Delhi.

While talking to UNI, Dr Pasricha said "The award has put more responsibility on my shoulders to serve the students with more zeal and zest". He futher said that the aim of the higher education should be to transform the individual into a good human being with leadership qualities.

Dr Pasricha had joined Punjbai University, Patiala as a lecturer in Commerce Department and rose to the positon of Professor in the same department.

He has also served as Head of the Department twice. He has authored three books and a number of research papers in reputed journals.

Besides, he has been acting as a subject expert in academic bodies of various universities in the region.
