Day against drug abuse observed in Manipur

Imphal, Jun 26 (UNI) The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was organised by All Manipur anti-Drug association(AMADA) and Committee on Anti-Drugs and Alcohol(CADA) in Manipur today.

For the past two weeks the two organisations have been organising cycle and bike rallies, and street plays.

The streets were full of rallyists, who were touring the state carrying the message of the movement against drug and alcohol. A rally was also carried out by large number of women last night as a part of the campaign.

The two organisations were involved in apprehending those involved in drug and alcohol.

To mark the occasion, a function was also held at Konung Lampak, Imphal east, organised by AMADA in which, O Joy, MLA, L Tomba, President of AMADA and other experts spoke about the significance of the day.
