Tiruchirapalli, June 26 (UNI) All the in-patients of the controversial Mathi Surgical and Maternity Hospital at Manapparai, near here, where a teenager had performed Caesarean section on a woman recently, were today shifted to a Government Hospital.

However, the hospital was not sealed by the district authorities.

Official sources said three patients, including two women, undergoing treatment at the hospital for various ailments, were shifted to the Government Hospital at Manapparai with the help of an ambulance.

Meanwhile, Special police teams deputed to Chennai and Madurai to nab M Dhileepan Raj, the 15-year-old school boy who had performed the surgery, were yet to trace him. Police suspect that the boy might be hiding in one of his relatives' or friends' house in Chennai or Madurai.

It may be recalled that Dr K Murugesan, a surgeon, and his wife Dr M Gandhimathy, a gynaecologist, had trained their son for the past four years and allowed him to perform caesarean surgery on a woman recently, with the aim of creating a Guinness world record.

The shocking violation of the Indian medical ethics and rules by the doctor couple had evoked strong protests from the medical fraternity, leading to their arrest last evening.

The erring medicos were also facing disciplinary action from the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Indian Medical Council.
