BJYM seeks CBI probe into graft charge on CPM activist
Kozhikode, June 26 (UNI) The pro-BJP Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in Kerala today demanded a CBI probe into alleged corruption charges against an expelled senior official of the 'Deshabhimani,' the CPI (M) organ in the state.
Talking to newspersons here, BJYM Keral President K Surendran said Deputy General Manager K Venugopal was very close to CPI (M) Leaders Pinarayi Vijayan and E P Jayarajan and as such a probe by the central agency would be necessary to unravel the truth.
The pro-CPI (M) Democratic Youth Federation of India, which was in the forefront against corruption issues in the past, should come out with its stand on the issue.
''Why the DYFI, which fought many struggles against graft cases in the past, is keeping mum on the corruption charge aganst a CPI (M) activist?'' he asked.
Mr Venugopal was expelled from the party for allegedly accepting Rs one crore from LIS Group Chairman P V Chacko promising to settle a case against the firm.
