Gorakhpur, June 26 (UNI) Police arrested three alleged human traffickers in a raid at a city hotel here and rescued 12 Nepali girls, meant for the flesh trade in the gulf countries.

Police today said Raj Hotel, situated near the Gorakhpur railway station, was raided last night on a tip-off, that led to the arrest of three human traffickers identified as Narain Kesri, Deepak Vika and Gopal Vika. They are natives of Nepal.

On interrogation, they revealed that unsuspecting Nepali girls are first taken to Delhi on the lure of employment.

Later, these girls are transported to the Gulf countries for the flesh trade.

The passport and visa of all the 12 girls had already been submitted at Mumbai.

Sources said the police had collected vital leads in the interrogation, which could bust the core syndicate coaxing Nepali girls on the promise of job and pushing them to prostitution.

The arrested men and the girls would have boarded the train, if the raid team had made the swoop a little later.

Meanwhile, the rescued girls had been handed over to a local NGO, while the trio had been sent to jail.
