22 positive cases of chikungunya in Kolhapur Dist: Patil

Kolhapur, June 26 (UNI) Twentytwo cases of chikungunya were found positive in the district, Kolhapur District Guardian Minister Harshwardhan Patil said today.

Talking to reporters at the collectorate here, Mr Patil said the health authorities had collected blood samples of about 55 patients from over 12 villages, of which, 22 cases were found positive.

The administration has started taking preventive measures with supply of necessary medicines and deployment of manpower to stop the spread of the viral disease, he said adding that the outbreak is totally under control in the district.
