17 cows on way to slaughter house, rescued in Anand

Anand, Jun 26 (UNI) Anand Akhil Bharatiya Gau Rakshak Samiti District Chief Bhupabhai Bharwad and his two friends rescued 17 cows, being taken in a tempo to a slaughter house, at Tarapur chowkdi.

Bharwad saw a tempo passing near the chowkdi yesterday night and asked them to stop. However the driver sped away. He gave a chase on his motorcycle with his two friends Ramdevji Jaggubhai Chudasma and Rupabhai Varambhai Bharwad. The tempo driver seeing the chase hotting up abandoned his vehicle and ran away with his cleaner.

Bharwad surrendered the tempo with the cows to Tarapur police.

The 17 cows are said to be on their way to a slaughter house.

Investigations are on, police said.
