VSNL achieves Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) 14 Certification

Mumbai, Jun 25 (UNI) Communications major, Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL) today announced that its Ethernet over SDH SONET and its India Ethernet services were the first global Ethernet services to achieve Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) 14 Certification.

MEF 14 Certification is an internationally recognized test suite that verifies conformance to the Quality of Service (QoS) standard attributes defined by the MEF, a release here said.

The Company also achieved MEF 9 (User-Network-Interface) certification after successful performance against 244 test cases that were applied against its Ethernet services, also between New York, London, Tokyo, Mumbai and Chennai.

MEF 14 complements MEF 9 certification by adding requirements and test procedures for performance and Bandwidth Profile Service attributes, the release added.
