Ten people were killed in rain-related incidents in Raichur

Raichur, Jun 25 (UNI) As many as 10 people were killed and another Rs 25 crore loss was incurred to both public and private properties in Raichur district in the last two days due to heavy rains.

According to officials sources while the loss of public assets was estimated of Rs 23.5 crore another 1 crore worth of private property was also damaged in the recent rains and floods in the district.

The agriculture and Animal Husbandary and other state departments were in the process of assessing the exact loss the sources said.

The authorities were also identified delapidated houses and other structures which were vulnerable to rain and flood waters. The District administration has decided to compensate to the rain and flood victims after completing the assessment of the exact rain-related damages.

In Gulbarga district an estimated 4.5 crore worth properties was damaged while more than 750 houses damaged in the heavy rains. One person was reportedly washed away in the flood water while Jewargi-Mayur road-link was severed due to flash floods the sources added.
