Teesta takes lives of three teenagers in Sikkim
Gangtok, June 25 (UNI) Three teenagers were washed away by river Teesta at Rangrang, North Sikkim, yesterday, police said today.
Dawa Diki Sherpa (15), Nima Dawa Sherpa (10) and Man Maya Subba (14) went for swimming into the turbulent Teesta, said DIG (Range) Akshay Sachdeva.
A search operation launched by North Sikkim police and volunteers yesterday and today proved futile. It is feared that the missing children are drowned. All three were from Rangrang.
Police stationed at lower belts of the river at Singtam and Rangpo were being alerted about the incident.
