Star gazing: Rajni 'Chandramukhi' sets new record
Chennai, June 25 (UNI) Even as Tamil Superstar latest sensation 'Sivaji-The Boss' was en route to creating box office history, his other film 'Chandramukhi' quietly completed a record 804-run breaking the record held by the 1944 classic Haridoss.
The celebrations was held at a glittering function held in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi this evening Completing the star grouping were Actors Kamal Hassan, Prabhu and Famous Director K Balachandar among others.
Rajnikant had once again proved his Midas touch as the film broke the record run of 'Haridoss' made by the famous Thyagaraja Bhagavathar.
'Haridoss' enjoyed an uninterrupted run of 112 weeks over three Diwali festivals spanning 784 days.
'Chandramukhi', a Tamil remake of a Kannada film, which itself was a remake of a Malayalam hit 'Manichitrathazhu', was released in Tamil Nadu in April 2005.
The question now is will 'Sivaji-The Boss' break 'Chandramukhi's' record? Judging by the euphoria and response, trade pundits say it should prove the boss of the box-office.
