Nagpur, Jun 25: Shiv Sena activists blackened the face of a medical officer of Chandrapur district in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra today to protest against the alleged lack of facilities in a government hospital.

According to the police, the activists put 'bukka' (a black powder normally used during pooja) on the face of Resident Medical Officer (RMO) and acting Civil Surgeon Dr Digamber Dasatwar while handing him a memorandum of their demands at the government hospital in Warora in the district this afternoon.

The police have registered an offence against 20 persons in this regard, but no arrests have been made so far.

Earlier, alleging that the hospital lacked facilities, the activists staged a 'begging' agitation in Warora town. They went around seeking alms, and later handed over the amount to Dr Dasatwar, the police added.
