Kochi, June 25 (UNI) NCP leader K Muraleedharan today urged the Kerala Government to announce a relief package of Rs 15 crore for monsoon-related incidents in the state.

Addressing mediapersons here today, Mr Muraleedharan said the government's current relief package of Rs 3.15 crore was miniscule, compared to the extent of damage.

He also urged the government to press for financial assistance from the Centre to provide relief to the victims.

Mr Muraleedharan alleged that the government had completely failed to contain the spread of viral fever, chikungunya and dengue in the state.

On the professional self-financing colleges issue, he said the government had surrended to the 'dictates of the managements'.

He said eventhough admission to the self-financing colleges would be on the 50:50 formula, the fees to the 50 per cent government seats were 'virtually' fixed by the management itself.

''There was a great difference between medical fees in a government college and self-financing college,'' he alleged.

He said the fees in the NRI quota were not affordable for the average Indians working in the gulf countries.

Mr Muraleedharan demanded a CBI probe into the issues which led to the expulsion of Marketing General Manager of 'Deshabhimani' daily K Venugopal from the CPM party on charges of bringing disrepute to the party through financial dealings.
